Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on a person’s weight and height. It is a tool that indicates whether a person has a health risk due to excess body fat levels.

40 or more: | Class 3 (high-risk) obesity or extreme obesity |
35.0 – 39.9: | Class 2 (moderate-risk) obesity. You have a chance of developing these health problems: diabetes, hypertension, heart attacks, bone and joint problems, sleep apnea and cancers. at risk of catching sickness which comes with obesity. If your waist circumference is more than standard, you are at risk of health problem, control your diel and exercise more.

28.5 – 34.9: | Obesity. If your waist circumference is greater than 90 cm. in men and 80 cm. in women, you may have higher chance of developing obesity-related diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. You should control your diet and exercise more.

23.5 – 28.4: | Overweight. If you have a heredity of obesity or high blood cholesterol, you should reduce your BMI to less than 23.

18.5 – 23.4: | Normal weight. Less chance of getting health problems. |
Less than 18.5: | Underweight. Possibly malnourished which could be found in athletes who have extreme work out. You should consume good food to get enough energy and exercise properly. |
